Since 1986, members of Boulder-based Ars Nova Singers have been awing audiences with inspiring performances across the Front Range.
The sheer power that culminates when 40 voices come together as one is monumental. Like the amplified sounds of guitar, drums and bass, the raw emotion and unencumbered human essence that coincides with a cappella music is one best experienced with a live performance.
As part of the ensemble’s 34th anniversary, the talented pack is offering performances of the “Earthquake” Mass by French composer Antoine Brumel — a creative of the Renaissance who is considered an innovative disrupter of his time, not afraid to break from tradition.
Music fans can catch a show in Boulder, Longmont and Cherry Hills to witness this colossal act. Ars Nova Singers founder and musical director Thomas Morgan has lived a life of pure song. We caught up with Morgan to discuss the latest show, his stance on modern a cappella groups and what he sees for the future of Ars Nova Singers, a group that has done more than 400 performances since its inception.
